Institut für Informations, - Telekommunikations- und Medienrecht (Public law)

DESCRIPTION OF THE STEP TRAINEESHIP PROVIDER

The rapid development of information and communication technologies in recent years has accelerated the transition to the global information and knowledge society. Technical progress increasingly makes it possible to store, process and retrieve information of any kind, regardless of location, time and quantity. The result is a convergence of previously separate economic sectors such as computer technology, telecommunications and audiovisual media.

Against this background, the Institute for Information, Telecommunications and Media Law (ITM) has set itself the goal of researching the legal framework of the information society - including comparative law. Furthermore, it is one of the Institute's tasks to represent information, telecommunications and media law in teaching and further education.

The law of information, telecommunication and media is a cross-sectional subject, which today cannot be covered by any of the classical legal disciplines. Therefore, the ITM wants to enable and promote interdisciplinary research and teaching activities. Against this background, the ITM covers both civil and public law with Prof. Dr. Thomas Hoeren and Prof. Dr. Bernd Holznagel.
