1st position - A comparative analysis of the way European countries (EU and non-EU members) mitigate human-wildlife conflicts. Comensation systems, legal measures regarding active or passive protection of cultivations and livestock, is there an insurance system? what are the penalties in case of shooting an animal as a result of this confict. The final deleverable should be a report in English.
2nd position - A comparative analysis of Civil Protection systems, volunteer involvement, and responsibilities regarding forest fire prevention and supression in: USA, Canada, Chile, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Israel,Australia, New Zealand, South Africa. Which are the competent authorities for forest fires prevention and supression? how is Civil Protection structured and how does it work, what is the role of volunteers (rights and duties), etc. The final deliverable should be a report in English..

A good knowledge of French/ or Spanish/ or German and a good/average knowledge of Greek is an optional requirement.
Regarding the first position, the traineeship will require checking relevant legislation and also checking its compatibility with EU regulations (ie if it can actually be applied in Greece).
For both positions a number of calls and interviews will be required with public services in different countries.
