DESCRIPTION OF THE STEP TRAINEESHIP PROVIDER

The Macedonian Young Lawyers Association (MYLA) is an independent, non-profit professional organisation founded in 2003 aiming to strengthen the position of young lawyers in the legal profession and in the society as a whole.

MYLA strives for a society in which the rule of law is established and people protectively strive for the respect of human rights. Through establishing an internship programme for young lawyers, MYLA offers law faculty graduates the opportunity to begin their professional path through gaining experience in the most successful attorneys at law, NGO’s and state institutions.

The organisation’s work focuses on the following three programmes: Legal aid, legal education and research, policy and advocacy.

Focus groups of MYLA are the victims of human rights violations, marginalised groups, CSOs, public institutions and lawyers.

MYLA provides legal aid to asylum seekers and refugees, migrants, stateless persons, victims of human trafficking, victims of human rights violations, victims of discrimination, victims of violence, socially and financially impaired persons, children, prisoners (convicted persons) and people with disabilities.
